The LoseThos 64 Bit PC Operating SystemOverview
LoseThos is a 64-bit, multi-cored, ring 0 only, preemptive multi-tasking, open source, public domain, free, x86 PC operating system written from scratch. It is not a unix. Its purpose is for recreational programming. It has no networking. You will dual boot LoseThos or run it in VMWare because it is not a primary operating system. It is envisioned to be used like a classic Apple II or Commodore 64, computers before networking. Its code is simpler than Linux, so amateurs can easily tinker. It includes a 64-bit kernel, 64-bit compiler/assembler, editor, graphic library, and lots of demos. It is very innovative -- allows graphics and links in source code. It is a live CD, so test-drive or install. It's free.
